Recruiter in Portland seeking an experienced bridge and highway CADD person with significant experience with Microstation, and InRoads, (not just a college kid who took a class) for a major engineering firm located in downtown Portland. My client seeks someone with at least 6 years of Microstation reading plans for bridges and highways. They turned down someone with excellent credentials who had 15 years of broad experience, and only 2 years of highways and bridges.

This is permanent, not project based, a competitive salary with excellent corporate benefits. Obviously, the person I am seeking is NOT out there unemployed, but this may be a move up, or a better location, or a change of pace. Portland is a lot like Seattle, but smaller, a bit less expensive, and the weather is generally not as rainy.

The company will relocate someone from another place, but I have not found anyone to even ask if they like clear blue skies, skiing, hiking, beaches and fishing, as well as a great place to just be.
